Kinfold Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 28, 2026

Kinfold is a shared, backed-up binder families use to keep a parent's medications, doctors, documents and wishes in one place. It is a product of Gravity Well Marketing, Inc., a Georgia corporation ("Kinfold," "we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers kinfoldfamily.com (the "Site") and the Kinfold app and services (together, the "Services").

If you live in Washington, Nevada or Connecticut, or if you add health-related information to Kinfold, please also read our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, which gives you additional rights.

Our promises, in plain words

  • We do not sell your information or your family's information.
  • We do not use advertising pixels, ad trackers or cross-site tracking on our Site or in the app.
  • We do not share binder contents with advertisers, data brokers or social media companies.
  • We never ask for passwords to your parent's accounts or for bank or card numbers.
  • You decide who in your family can see a binder, and you can remove access at any time.

Information we collect

On the Site (waitlist). When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, the date you signed up and how you found us (for example, the name of the website or campaign that sent you). Our hosting provider also records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited, to deliver and secure the Site.

In the app (at launch). To provide Kinfold we collect:

  • Account information: your name, email address and login credentials (stored in protected form, never in plain text).
  • Binder contents you or your family add: information about the person the binder is for, such as their name, medications and doses, doctors and pharmacies, insurance details, legal documents, notes about where things are kept, and their wishes in their own words. Some of this is health information. You choose what to add.
  • Photos and files you upload: for example, pictures of insurance cards, prescription labels or documents.
  • Family sharing information: the names and email addresses of people you invite, and the role you give each one.
  • Activity needed to run the service: who added or changed an item and when, so your family can see the history and restore earlier versions.
  • Support messages: what you send us when you ask for help.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and Kinfold is meant for adults.

How we use information

We use information only to:

  • provide, maintain, back up and secure Kinfold, including family sharing, version history, the ER Card and PDF export;
  • send you messages you would expect, such as account emails, security notices and waitlist updates (you can unsubscribe from non-essential emails at any time);
  • respond to support requests;
  • understand, in aggregate, how the Services are used so we can improve them (without selling or sharing binder contents); and
  • comply with law and protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

We do not use binder contents to target advertising, and we do not use them to train third-party AI models.

Who can see a binder

A binder is visible only to the people you invite and to the person the binder is for if you invite them. Each person's role (for example, editor or viewer) controls what they can do. If you create a time-limited ER Card link, anyone with that link can view the summary until the link expires. Share it only with people you trust, such as a doctor or nurse.

How we share information

We share information only in these situations:

  • Service providers that host, store, back up, secure or email on our behalf (for example, our website and email platform, GoHighLevel, and our cloud hosting provider). They may use the information only to provide their service to us, under written agreements that require them to protect it.
  • At your direction, such as when you invite a family member or create an ER Card link.
  • Legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect someone's safety. Where allowed, we will tell you first.
  • Business transfer, if Kinfold is sold or merged. The new owner must honor this policy, and we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies

The Site and app use only cookies and similar technologies that are needed to run them, such as keeping you signed in and protecting against fraud. We do not use advertising or social media tracking cookies or pixels. To understand how the Site performs, we use only the basic page statistics built into our website platform, which do not track you across other sites.

Security

We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and backups with version history. No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach involving your information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as the law requires, including the Federal Trade Commission's Health Breach Notification Rule.

How long we keep information

We keep waitlist emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them for Kinfold. We keep binder contents for as long as the account is active. If you delete a binder or your account, we delete its contents from our active systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.

Your choices and rights

You can view, edit, export or delete binder contents at any time inside the app, and you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by contacting us below. Depending on where you live, including California, you may have additional rights, such as to know what we collect and to not be discriminated against for using your rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right. We will verify your request before acting on it, and you may use an authorized agent.

Children's privacy

Kinfold is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will post the new policy with a new effective date and notify you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. We will not use information in a materially different way without your consent.
